Lagenandra thwaitesii is the smallest member of this genus and is of Sri Lanka origin. It produces two kinds of leaves, a slender and crispate margin type and another oval and wavy type. Leaves are grassy green with silvery edged leaf blades. 
It makes a nice addition to the foreground or midground of an aquarium.
This a rhizome plant so do not bury the rhizome or it will rot.
