Background

Plants which get very tall when fully grown will all make excellent plants for the back wall of a planted aquarium. When setting up a live planted aquarium, using a terracing technique and planting plants short to tall front to back is a great way to make the aquarium seem larger than it is by giving it depth.
These plants can really look stunning and dominate a landscape. There are some slow growing background plants but generally they are fast growing plants. They will need constant pruning as most background plants will keep growing even when they reach the surface and spread about blocking the light to other plants.
