    Aponogeton Boivinianus

    Price:  £5.99

Aponogeton boivinianus is a large, strong plant which is only suitable for large aquariums. A bulb plant from Madagascar. In favourable conditions it can form very large leaves (up to 80 cm long and 8 cm wide, and from 30-50 cm wide). The oldest leaves are deep dark-green, while younger leaves are light-green and sometimes brownish until they are fully developed. In the wild Aponogeton boivinianus is found in fast-flowing water, and it prefers some flow in the aquarium water. As soon as the plants growth begins to slow, it should be given a period of rest, during which it needs cool water and dimmed light. The best way to achieve this is to move it to a small seperate aquarium for around 3 to 4 months. it is then ready to be planted back in the original aquarium. This is one of the most attractive types of Aponogeton. Its vibrant green, transparent leaves are stunning
